Sharee McPhailSharee McPhail from Swain House is preparing to compete in the Great North Run after having a double lung transplant.
A Bradford woman is urging people to sign the organ donor register after a dramatic transplant saved her life.
A year ago 28 year old Sharee McPhail was told her lungs were ravaged by Cystic Fibrosis and she did not have long to life.
She was placed on a waiting list and six months later she finally got the call that saved her life and received a double lung transplant.
The PE and Dance teacher said: "Life this time last year was incomprehensible; it was such a task just to wash my own hair let alone even think about working. I was on Intravenous antibiotics constantly, and at times literally felt like life was hanging by a very thin thread.”
A year on Sharee from Swain House has returned to work and is also teaching disadvantaged children dance.
She's now the picture of health and recently ran the Manchester 10K.
She's now raising money for charity by taking part in the Great North Run.
