Stephanie Otty
Stephanie joined the Pulse in February 2004 and is now Head of News. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, loves Rugby League - or maybe its just the men who play it! - and has a not so secret passion for Country Music. She's a complete shopaholic with a weakness for killer heels - if you ever see her in flats she's either having a really bad day or recovering from a really good night! She loves to travel and visit exotic places - but is always more than happy to return to her home town of Harrogate. Her favourite time of the year is Christmas and she'll fight any one who tries to stop her decorating the office - so if you're not a lover of the festive season then it's probably best to give her a wide berth from late November onwards.

Becky Holmes
Born at Airedale General some time in the past Becky hails from the literary hotspot of Haworth, like the Bront sisters and like them, she's travelled as far as Lancashire (studying on the wrong side of the Pennines), before coming home to work at The Pulse.

Bethan Davies
Bethan's our newest recruit to the Pulse news team. Born in Baildon - she's returned to her home town after a stint working in South Yorkshire. In her spare time she 'enjoys' visiting the gym and then undoing all her good work with some junk food afterwards. Like Stephanie she's a shopoholic - and now needs to purchase a new wardrobe to fit all her clothes in. Unlike Stephanie - you'll rarely see her in heels - being the only woman in the world with an inability to walk in them. She spends her evenings enjoying a good book or a bad TV programme - her favorites include Hollyoaks and Neighbours.

NEWS:
The end of 2006 drew a line under the murder of Bradford Police Woman Sharon Beshenivsky with three men locked up for her killing. A fourth was jailed in March 2007 after being found guilty of manslaughter. The early part of 2007 also saw three teenagers locked up for the racist murder of a Huddersfield taxi driver who was beaten to death. Other big criminal cases that have caught the attention of the national media in 2007 include: Bradford councillor Bob Hargreaves jailed for five years after being found guilty of molesting two eleven year old girls. The uncle of a two year old Leeds girl was given a life sentence for her rape and murder. A fourteen year old girl who killed her sixteen year old sister with a knife after a row over a boy in their Halifax home was sent to a young offenders centre for three and a half years. And a couple of big cases which are still ongoing - A Huddersfield father has been charged with murdering his four year old son Ryan Hawkins and attempting to murder his fourteen year old daughter Donna in the sleepy Kirklees village of Slaithwaite. Ronald Castree is currently on trial over the murder of eleven year old Lesley Molseed whose body was found in Ripponden more than thirty years ago.
Proving that West Yorkshire somehow always manages to be at the centre of big national stories - it emerged in April that a Huddersfield man was among the fifteen Royal Navy Sailors and Marines captured in Iran. Chris Coe was freed and reunited with is family unharmed. After years of debate, The Ridings - a Calderdale School once dubbed the worst in the country - will be shut down. A decision was made on the issue in October. And after a long battle with cancer, Leeds fundraiser Jane Tomlinson died from the disease.
On a more positive note - film crews descended on Bradford for the trial of Coronation Street star Tracey Barlow. The Soap chose City Hall as their location for the dramatic scenes. Bradford also played host to the Bollywood Oscars. And one of the biggest names in entertainment stepped in to try and help a struggling working men's club in Huddersfield. Harvey Goldsmith filmed an episode of his trouble-shooting TV series at the business in Deighton.
Football:
2007 saw both Huddersfield Town and Bradford City sack their managers. Bradford City were then relegated to League two after a run of poor results. Former Bradford City player and legend to the fans Stuart McCall returned as Manager of the Bantams for the start of the 2007/2008 season. Huddersfield Town meanwhile brought in Andy Ritchie. Huddersfield Town turned down an offer in October 2007 from ex- Hull City chief Adam Pearson to buy the club. Halifax Town has been saved after an agreement was reached over an outstanding tax bill. New owners are expected to be named in the coming weeks. The Pulse has continued to support our three local football teams, meeting with managers on a weekly basis to keep up to date with the latest news.
Rugby League:
Both Bradford Bulls and Huddersfield Giants failed to get through to the two big finals this year. However, Huddersfield made the play offs for the first time in their history and broke their duck against Bradford - beating the Bulls twice. The Pulse continued to support both clubs throughout the season. This year also saw the launch of the Pulse Pod cast in association with the Bradford Bulls. This is a weekly package featuring exclusive interviews with the coach and the players available to download from the Bulls website. Bradford youngster Sam Burgess became the youngest player since Andy Farrell to make his debut for Great Britain in October 2007.
